Really, our bodies generally do a good job in terms of keeping us well and supporting our well-being. However in some cases as it goes about its job of repair quite naturally, the body sometimes might give some of us a little cause for concern, especially in the area of our looks.

That is why so many people today are looking for ways to deal with the ugly scabbing that often occurs from conditions like acne and for ways to reduce or remove the scars that are sometimes left behind.

Here are a few suggestions of remedies you can try for healing the scabs on your face

A quick and easy remedy you could try first is to apply a lightly warm compress, several times throughout the day, directly to the scab, since moisture acts as a softening agent and can help to loosen the scab. Infections can be a main cause of scarring so to avoid this problem a routine of cleanliness is advised. Liquid colloidal silver can be added to the water used, as a natural anti biotic and to help prevent infection. Every time the compress is applied don’t forget to finish off with a thorough drying. There is a type of honey, called Manuka that it is claimed acts as a natural antibiotic and can be applied to the scab to protect it whilst at the same time allowing it to remain soft, to reduce the risk of scars developing.

Some argue that the best way of healing scabs is by using chemical peels.

As with the other treatments, chemical skin peeling is a topical treatment that involves spreading the acid cream across the damaged areas. This cream burns the unsightly layers and helps to stimulate the production of fresh, healthy and smoother skin. The milder solutions are available over the counter for home treatment and exfoliation or rejuvination of the skin .The stronger acid solutions need to be applied by a qualified health professional.

Other people recommend healing scars by Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion involves removing the top layer of the skin which is scarred or damaged by acne or other causes, using an abrasive process, a bit like a sandpaper effect. Having gained popularity in recent years it is a cosmetic procedure that is still in fairly high demand. The process takes place by blasting at the skin surface, using tiny crystals, opening the way for a new layer of skin to gow. This procedure would also be carried out by a health professional although there are milder versions available for home treatment. Damaged skin layers treated with home dermabrasion methods are based on a similar method of abrasion or ‘sandpapering’ of the skin.

A final note might be that we can go a long way towards preventing scars, scabs and pimples by avoiding touching the skin as much as possible, no picking or scratching and keeping the area clean and free from germs and the possibility of infection. The healing process can be sabotaged by picking at scabs and the chances of scarring are increased if the scab is not allowed to fall away by itself in its own time.
